| Production method | Obtained by the reaction of lauryl alcohol (n-dodecanol) with hydrobromic acid: add lauryl alcohol to an enamel glass reaction pot, stir and cool, and slowly add sulfuric acid. Stir for 1 hour, then add hydrobromic acid. The temperature gradually increased to 90-95 ℃, and the stirring reaction lasted for 8 hours. The reaction is complete, cool to 30 ℃ and let stand for 8 hours. Separate the acid layer, adjust the pH of the oil layer with dilute alkaline solution, remove the alkaline solution, and wash with 50% ethanol. Vacuum distillation is used to collect products from fractions at 140-200 ℃ (3.33kPa). The yield is over 90%. |
