| Storage | The warehouse is ventilated and dried at low temperature, and stored separately from oxidants and acids. |
| Use | Used as an intermediate and solvent in organic synthesis. |
| Production method | It is obtained by reacting n-propanol with hydrochloric acid. Dissolve anhydrous zinc chloride in hydrochloric acid, stir and slowly add n-propanol. After adding, reflux reaction is carried out to evaporate the generated chloropropane, and all chloropropane is evaporated at 115-120 ℃. The crude product steamed out is washed with industrial sulfuric acid, water, and 10% sodium carbonate, then washed with water. After drying with calcium chloride, it is fractionated and collected at 44.6-47.5 ℃ to obtain the finished product. In addition, the reaction between n-propanol and phosphorus pentachloride can also produce chloropropane. |
